Saturday Forecast Shows Significant Improvement as Speedway Moves Forward With October 3 Racing Program
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (October 1, 2026) — It’s full speed ahead for Breast Cancer Awareness Night at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway this Saturday, October 3, as a greatly improved Saturday weather forecast has officials moving forward with plans for a full night of racing on the historic 5/8-mile and quarter-mile tracks.
Speedway officials have closely monitored weather forecasts throughout the week, and while conditions looked questionable earlier in the week, the outlook for Saturday has continued to trend in a positive direction. The Speedway’s current forecast shows the possibility of early morning precipitation but no rain after approximately 8:00 AM Saturday, providing optimism for the scheduled afternoon and evening activities.
“We’ve watched the weather extremely closely all week, and Saturday’s forecast has improved greatly,” said Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway promoter Bob Sargent. “At this point, everything we are seeing gives us confidence to move forward with Saturday’s racing program. We know fans and race teams are making travel plans, so we wanted everyone to know that we are full speed ahead and looking forward to a great night of racing at the Fairgrounds.”
Friday’s Open Practice from 3:00-7:00 PM also remains on the schedule. The Friday forecast is less certain, and officials will continue monitoring conditions throughout the day in hopes of getting teams on track. Any necessary updates regarding Friday practice will be communicated through the Speedway’s official channels.
Saturday’s Breast Cancer Awareness Night will feature a full lineup of racing as the 2026 championship season enters its final stretch. The Pro Late Models headline the program with a 100-lap feature on the 5/8-mile, with the Street Stocks also competing on the big track. The quarter-mile will feature Limited Late Models, Pure Stocks, Legends, Pest Doctor Front Runners and CP Race Wear Bandoleros. Several championship battles remain separated by only a handful of points with just two race weekends remaining.
On Saturday, the pits open at 9:30 AM, practice begins at 1:00 PM, qualifying follows and feature racing begins at 5:00 PM. Officials will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates should anything change, but preparations are moving forward for Saturday’s event.
Breast Cancer Awareness Night is the final Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway event before the season-ending All American 400 Weekend, November 6-8.
