Kvapil, McKnight Score Wins in Front of Packed House at Tootsie’s Music City Showdown

NASHVILLE, TN — A near-capacity crowd filled the grandstands at the historic Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway on Saturday night as the Tootsie’s Music City Showdown delivered one of the most impressive short track events of the season. Featuring the stars of the zMAX CARS Tour the event showcased elite talent, side-by-side racing, and remarkable racecraft across both divisions.

In total, 225 laps of feature racing were completed without a single tow truck needed, highlighting the respect among competitors in both the Pro Late Model and Late Model Stock ranks. The energy from the packed crowd, combined with the support of Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge, created an electric atmosphere worthy of one of Nashville’s premier racing events.

The night’s Pro Late Model feature saw Evan McKnight lead the way in an impressive performance against a stacked field. Dawson Sutton made the pass of Evan McKnight for the lead early in the event and went on to the win. Brett Robinson and Mason Walters completed the top five, followed by Kaden Honeycutt, Jackson Boone, Chase Burgeson, Cody Dempster, and Brandon Lopez to round out the top ten finishers.

The Late Model Stock feature provided late-race excitement as a caution in the closing laps set up a thrilling finish. Caden Kvapil capitalized on the opportunity, taking the lead from Parker Eatmon and holding on for the victory in the 125-lap feature. Eatmon crossed the line second, followed closely by Dylan Fetcho in third. Conner Jones and Landen Lewis rounded out the top five, with Treyten Lapcevich, Carson Brown, London McKenzie, Chase Burrow, and Chad McCumbee completing the top ten.

Adding to the night’s excitement, NASCAR Hall of Famer Dale Earnhardt Jr. thrilled fans with a strong performance, charging from 21st to 12th in the Late Model Stock feature. His presence brought additional national attention to the event.

From start to finish, the Tootsie’s Music City Showdown lived up to the hype—delivering clean, competitive racing, a passionate fanbase, and a showcase of some of the best short track talent in the country.

Up next for the track is the INEX Legends Spring Nationals next weekend, Thursday-Saturday, April 16-18.
