(Nashville, TN) Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway came back alive this past Saturday, July 13 for the Soundgear North/South Super Late Model Challenge 100 in addition to the track favorite Pro Lates and a great selection of quarter-mile divisions.

After a great deal of action on the quarter-mile, the Pro Late Models and Super Late Models put on a fantastic show as the ASA / CRA Super Series and Southern Super Series converged for the SoundGear North / South Super Late Model Challenge.

The Pro Late Model feature saw multiple lead changes throughout the event as attrition set in early, including frontrow starters, Brett Robinson and Trey Craig. It was back to business for Dawson Sutton and Corey Dueser as they quickly climbed the charts, eyeing a victory. Sutton found a way around Hunter Wright while Corey Deuser went toe-to-toe with the 29. Sutton eventually claimed his second race of the 2024 Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway season, stretching the lead ever so slightly in the championship fight.

The SoundGear North / South Super Late Model Challenge went green but quickly followed with a caution as Billy Van Meter went up in the turn 2 wall. After a restart, Van Meter got into Michael Hinde as both cars came to rest in turns 3 & 4. After a restart, the field ran single file to build a rhythm. Casey Roderick would find pace at the front with Dylan Fetcho and Gio Ruggiero but a caution with Michael Hinde would once again stack the field up.

On the impending restart, second on back would shuffle as Dawson Sutton, Bubba Pollard, and Stephen Nasse arrived on the scene. Ruggiero suffered a failure, resulting in a hard crash that took him out of contention as Nasse moved up to the second position. When the checkered flag flew, it was Roderick winning his first ASA/CRA and ASA Southern Super Series race of 2024. Roderick is just two races away from winning the ASA Southern Super Series Championship as the consistency continues with the Anthony Campi team.

In ¼-mile action, Colt Johnson, of Charlotte, NC got the evening started as he claimed victory in the CP Race Wear Bandoleros, as he led flag-to-flag over Landon Thrasher, James Faulkner, Jordan Bauer, and Mya Eatherly.

In US Air Force Legends competition, Springfield, TN’s Kevin Rollins took the victory in the Pro/Masters division, after taking the lead on lap nine. Rollins was followed at the finish by Wayne Grubb, Jessie Brinkley, Hunter Willis, and Chris Jones.

In the Semi Pro portion of the Legends action, Bradley Swift led all 15-laps of the time shortened race to take the win. Following the Nashville driver were Galen Clark, Dylan Faulkner, Garrett Dies, and Landon Cordell.

In Pure Stock feature action, Terry Jackson, of Chapmansboro, TN, took the victory over Chase Cohron, John Bradley, Michael Toth, and Chase Walls.

Nashville, TN’s Jessie Litchford led flag-to-flag in the Pest Doctor Front Runner class to take the victory over Ray Gann, Tony Gann, Josh Harrell, and Roger Gann.

The Street Stock class moved from the ⅝-mile to the ¼-mile for the July 13 event and brought some dramatic action over the final couple of laps. Lap-after-lap, Marcus Elliott beat on the bumper of Michael Pannell, trying to get by. After trading the lead a time or two late, Pannell was able to hold him off, while Elliott was edged at the line by Michael Neidert for the runnerup spot. Travis Arms and Jeff Belt completed the top five.

The Paschall Heating and Air Limited Late Model class saw Mt. Juliet, TN’s Dalton Hamlett claim the feature win over Jeff Templeton. Kevin Rollins took third, while Dwayne Hudson and Dylan Jones took top fives.

Next up for the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway is Bass Tire Family Night Saturday, August 10, as the Pro Late Models and quarter-mile divisions take the stage for a fun night of action. Tickets available on nashvillefairgroundsspeedway.racing.
