Nashville, TN (Wednesday, September 1, 2022) – For the first time in three years, a fair will be held at The Fairgrounds Nashville, a historical property located a mile and a half south of downtown Nashville, Tennessee. Both sporting venues on the Fairgrounds’ will be in competition during the Nashville Fair. Nashville SC, a Major League Soccer franchise plays on the first Saturday of the Fair, September 9th, and the stars of the Nashville Local Racing scene take to the Fairgrounds Speedway on the second Saturday of the fair, September 17th.
The September 17th racing event at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway features three divisions of Late Models – Pro Late Models, Outlaw Late Models, and Limited Late Models. The Pro Late Models will have two 50-lap features, both paying standard championship points. The Outlaw Late Models will join the Pros on the 5/8th mile for a 40-lap feature event. The Limited Late Models compete on the ¼ mile oval along with Street Stocks, Pure Stocks, Pest Doctor Front Runners, BH Holmes Construction Legends Cars, and Murfreesboro Fence Company Bandoleros.
Wilson County racer, Hunter Wright scored his second Pro Late Model victory of the season last race, winning the Bass Tire 100 in a photo finish over 2020 Champion, Dylan Fetcho. Fetcho, from Lebanon, TN, currently leads this year’s Championship by 3 points over Wright. Cole Williams is third in the championship standings with Chase Johnson in fourth and Michael Bolden completing the top five. September 17th is races number seven and eight of ten in the 2022 Championship.
Racing action begins at 5:00pm with six races on the ¼ mile short-track before switching over to the big-track later on in the evening. The Fair opens at 11:00am on Saturday a provides great family fun with events such as the Balloon-O-Rama, Barnyard Animals in the Activity Hall, Butterfly exhibit, Festival of Nations, Science exhibition, racing pigs, and of course, racing cars!
