Lebanon, Tennessee (October 14, 2021) – Hunter Wright and the Day Racing Products Team led by veteran car owner Wayne Day, left their home base of Nashville, Tennessee yesterday to try their hand at the CRA/JEGS All Stars Tour Pro Late Model season finale at Winchester Speedway, marking Wright’s first visit to the notorious half-mile.

The CRA Pro Late Models take the stage on Friday evening in conjunction with the 50th annual Winchester 400 weekend.

Wright, the 2020 Pro Late Model Rookie of the Year at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway, is currently tied for 3rd place in championship points with one race remaining on this season’s schedule at the historic speedway.

His 2021 race season kicked off at New Smyrna Speedway’s World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing, which boasts a hefty nine days and nights of racing where Wright captured two podium finishes.

Capturing a feature win at Kentucky Speedway in July, Wright says he hopes to overcome some setbacks with bad luck recently and turn things around as he tackles the whopping 37-degree high banks of Winchester.  He posted a 3rdplace finish at Nashville last week.

“We would like to have more wins but have had some problems that took us out of some strong runs. It will certainly be the fastest track I have ever raced. I don’t really know much about the track at all other than what I have seen on TV. Hopefully we get plenty of practice time today as this will be our teams first pro late model race at this unique track.”

Wright dominated the middle-Tennessee U.S. Legends Cars International Series for years with numerous wins and track championships at Highland Rim Speedway/Veterans Motorplex and Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway.  He was crowned 2019 Tennessee State Champ in the U.S. Legends Semi Pro Asphalt division and was ultimately runner-up in the national point chase that same year before shifting his focus to the Pro Late Models.

Practice today begins at noon and concludes at 5 p.m.  The 100-lap feature kicks off Friday at 6 p.m.
