Three CRA Sanctions to Battle at Salem Speedway

Salem, IN (Saturday, April 24, 2021) – On Sunday afternoon, three sanctions of Champion Racing Association (CRA) stock cars will converge on Salem Speedway for a Track Enterprises promotion – Midwest 250 Presented by Scott county Tourism & Lucas Oil. The ARCA/CRA Super Series, JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour, and Van Hoy Oil CRA Street Stocks will all take center stage for the first points event of the season for the top two series.

The ARCA/CRA Super Series entry list is mighty with talent, featuring former champions, past winners, and future NASCAR talent. Five-time USAC Silver Crown Champion, Kody Swanson is expected to make his Super Late Model debut at Salem Speedway in his Team Platnum Chevrolet. He’s coming in off of a solid Pro Late Model debut at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway where he lead over 60 laps of the race. Also on the Super Series entry list is current NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Rookie of the Year Championship standings leader, Carson Hocevar. Last season, Hocevar was all but untouchable during high-profile events, including winning the Redbud 400, Winchester 400, and led several laps during the All American 400.

For the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour, a solid field of cars is expected. 2020 JEGS Tour Rookie of the Year, Chase Burda is looking to track down a Championship this season after a rough start to the year. In addition to a big crash in his dirt Modified at the Bristol Dirt Nationals, Burda had an engine expire last week during a Pro Late Model test in preparation for this weekend’s race. Former Great Lakes Super Sprints competitor, Andrew Scheid is looking toward his JEGS debut Sunday afternoon. Former All American 400 Champion, Mason Mingus is also on the entry list along with multi-time Nashville Champion Cole Williams.

The CRA Street Stock contingent of competitive drivers is expected to unload for their second race of the new season, with a special ‘ringer’ also ready to do battle. Former NASCAR Cup Series driver, Ken Schrader will race in the Federated Auto Parts 51.

Qualifying for the Midwest 250 begins with the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour at 1:00 PM, followed by the CRA Street Stocks Group Qualifying, then the ARCA/CRA Super Series Qualifying at 2:00 PM. Pre Race Ceremonies begin at 2:15 PM with racing to follow.
