Racing is Back in the Music City Friday & Saturday

Nashville, TN (Thursday, April 15, 2021) – A blockbuster summer of racing is scheduled to come to Tennessee this season, with NASCAR at ‘The Superspeedway’ and Indycar in town for the Music City Grand Prix but, race fans don’t have to wait for the national television crews to roll in to see some of the best drivers from around the country go to work inside their race cars. This weekend, Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway begins their 64th Season of Asphalt Racing featuring a stacked line-up of racing.

The action all begins on Friday night with the Starkey US Legend Major at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway. The racing Friday and Saturday will showcase some of the top drivers in the Dye Hard Hair Solutions Bandoleros and BH Holmes Construction Legends competing for a chance to qualify for an INEX National event during Saturday’s features.

In addition to those races, a 100 lap Pro Late Model feature will cap off the season opening night. Dylan Fetcho returns looking to defend his title and become the first back-to-back Pro Late Model Champion since Wade Allen Buttrey during the 2004/2005 seasons. Fetcho will also be chasing a Track Championship in the BH Holmes Construction Legends.

Expected to join Fetcho in the Pro Late Models are a host of other noted Late Model Drivers, including 2019 Champion Jackson Boone, who makes a return to NFS after an abrupt end to his 2020 season. Michael House, the 2018 Track Champion is also expected to return this season looking to improve on a challenging 2020 campaign. Fans can also look for Team Platinum driver Kody Swanson. The five-time USAC Silver Crown Champion is still riding momentum following his first career Pro Late Model win during the World Series of Stock Car Racing at New Smyrna Speedway.

Also set to return this season are the Big Machine Vodka Spiked Coolers Super Trucks. Last year, Tanner Arms held off his father-in-law, John Burns to pick up the Track Championship. Along the way, Arms grabbed a pair of feature wins – the first of which came on opening night.

Other classes include the exciting Limited Late Models on the quarter-mile, where 2020 Champion Johnathan Dishman is returning to try and defend his title. Plus, Street Stocks (Larry Cunningham), Pure Stocks (Joshua Hood), and Pest Doctor Front Runners (Daniel Harper) will be on the track in 2021 as drivers fight for wins at America’s Favorite Short Track.

The Starkey US Legends Major at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway kicks off Friday night. Gates open at 5:30 PM with racing at 7:00 PM. Then on Saturday, grandstand gates open at 2:00 PM and Bandolero/Legend racing begins at 3:00 PM; the stock car portion of the show begins at 5:30 PM.
