Salem, Indiana (Tuesday, May 3, 2022) – The sixth addition of the North/South Super Late Model Challenge 100 Presented by Keen Parts will hit the track this Saturday night as part of a huge stock car racing event at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway, located in downtown Nashville, Tennessee, that will also include the ARCA Menards East Series in a 200-lap event, the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour and Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway Pro Late Models in a combined 100 lap event.

 

The $10,000 to win North/South Super Late Model Challenge 100 Presented by Keen Parts is a Co-sanctioned event by two of the top Template Super Late Model series in the country, including the ARCA/CRA Super Series Powered by JEGS and the Southern Super Series Presented by Sunoco.

 

Donnie Wilson won the inaugural North/South Super Late Model Challenge 100 in 2016, while Casey Roderick won the event in 2017 and again in 2018. Josh Brock won the event in 2019. The event did not take place in 2020 because of COVID. Carson Kvapil is the defending winner of the event from the 2021 season.

 

NASCAR Cup Series competitor William Byron tops a strong list of Super Late  Model entries for Saturday nights North/South Super Late Model Challenge 100. Byron is a four-time Cup Series winner, including wins at Atlanta Motor Speedway on March 20th and again at Martinsville Speedway on April 9th.  Byron returned to Super Late Models in 2021 for the first time in five years and has continued to add Super Late Model events to his 2022 calendar, starting at the World Series of Asphalt at New Smyrna Speedway in February, were he won two 100 lap events. Byron last competed at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway in the 2016 North/South Super Late Model Challenge where he finished in fifth place.

 

The event has a strong entry list of competitors from all over the country including previous event winner Roderick, who will be making his second start for the Platinum Motorsports team after winning in his debut for the team in the ARCA/CRA Super Series event at Salem Speedway on April 24th.

 

Multi-time NASCAR Camping World Truck Series winner Chandler Smith is entered. The defending Snowball Derby Champion picked up a Truck Series win at Las Vegas Motor Speedway for his Kyle Busch Motorsports team on March 4th.

 

Other top Southern drivers entered include former Southern Super Series Champions Bubba Pollard, Stephen Nasse, Jake Garcia along with Jett Noland, Hunter Robbins, Jake Finch, Matt Craig, Michael Hinde, Kyle Bryant, Dusty Williams, Dustin Smith, Tyler Tanner, Blaine Rocha, Logan Beardon and Rocky Samson.

 

Representing the North will be 2021 Winchester 400 winner Sammy Smith who is the current ARCA Menards East Series points leader with two series victories so far in 2022, along with 2016 ARCA/CRA Super Series Champion Cody Coughlin, 2022 ARCA/CRA Super Series season opener winner Eddie Van Meter and son Billy Van Meter, Albert Francis, Scotty Tomasik, Tommy St. John, Jordon Riddick and Canadian Nicholas Naugle.

 

Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway will be well represented in the North/South Super Late Model Challenge 100 Presented by Keen Parts with three former Fairgrounds Late Model Champions entered, including 2018 and 2021 Champion Michael House, 2020 Champion Dylan Fetcho and 2019 Champion Jackson Boone.

 

The North/South Super Late Model Challenge 100 Presented by Keen Parts for Super Late Models weekend schedule will consist of an optional open practice this Friday, pits open at 1pm (Central), rotating open practice will go from 4pm until 7pm. Pits open at 9am on Saturday. There will be one 45-minute practice session on Saturday at 12:35pm, followed by qualifying at 3:30pm. The North/South Super Late Model Challenge 100 Presented by Keen Parts, which will consist of a field of up to 32 cars that will pay $10,000 to win and a coveted Nashville Guitar Trophy for the winner, will be the second feature up when racing begins at 5:00pm. The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour 100-lap event will start the nights racing action and the ARCA Menards East Series 200 lap event beginning at 8:30pm (Central) that night.
