Camping World SRX & Rackley Roofing Masters Return to Nashville Saturday, July 9th

Nashville, TN (Thursday, June 16, 2022) – The summer’s hottest short-track racing event in Tennessee is set for the weekend of July 9th at America’s Favorite Short Track. The Camping World SRX Series will make their second appearance in Nashville and will once again be paired with the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour for the 10th Running of the Rackley Roofing Masters of the Pros 150 on Saturday evening, July 9th. The exciting racing weekend will now begin on Thursday night, July 7th with a special Local Racing program on Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway’s quarter mile oval.

The quarter mile special was originally scheduled for Friday, July 8th and has now been moved to Thursday, July 7th for logistic purposes.

“As the Fairgrounds’ campus continues to evolve and our racing program grows larger, we have recognized some adjustments are necessary. Working with the Fair Board, neighborhood leaders, and race teams, we have collectively determined it best to adjust the event schedule to establish a more suitable racing environment for our local racers,” said Speedway Promoter Bob Sargent. “Moving the quarter mile program to its own special Thursday night feature, allows for adequate track time, pit space, parking, and traffic flow for an enjoyable experience at the races when the Nashville quarter mile stars take centerstage to open one of the Fairgrounds’ biggest racing weekends of the year.”

The event will feature Limited Late Models, Street Stocks, Pure Stocks, Pest Doctor Front Runners, BH Holmes Construction Legends Cars, and Murfreesboro Fence Bandoleros. Top three finishers will be awarded trophies and the winner will earn a 6’ tall trophy. Cars are scheduled to get on track at 4:00pm for practice and qualifying with racing starting at 6:30pm. Adult Tickets are just $15 at the gate, $12 for senior citizens and military personnel, kids six to twelve are just $5, and kids five and under are free.

So far this season the quarter mile racing action has been full of excitement for Fairgrounds’ fans. Sean Lepore rolled his Bandolero in the last race and Walter Ladd ended up on the top of a four car Pure Stock pileup. Johnathan Dishman and Kevin Rollins are already engaged in another epic Limited Late Model points battle. The two former Track Champions are separated by just 1 point. Gus Moody and Travis Arms have each scored a Street Stock feature win this season and Matt Hamlett has laid claim to two Front Runner feature triumphs. Full fields of Legends Cars have filled the quarter mile this year. Florida’s TJ DeCaire, and Tennessee’s Joshua Mullins, Oliver Cordell, and Michael Crafton sit within 8 points of each other at the top of the championship standings after 5 of 10 races.

On the Speedway Friday July 8th will be the Camping World SRX cars for their shakedown session and the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Pro Late Models for a two-hour Rackley Roofing Masters of the Pros 150 open practice session. The practice will run from 5:00 until 7:00pm.

The Garage Area will open at 7:00am on Saturday morning, July 9th for SRX and CRA teams. Rackley Roofing Masters of the Pros 150 final practice is scheduled for 10:45am with Camping World SRX Series practice from 12:00 until 2:00pm. The Main Grandstands will open for spectators at noon, Rackley Roofing Masters of the Pros qualifying will take place at 2:15 and stage one of the prestigious Pro Late Model race will start promptly at 5:00pm.
