(Nashville, TN) One of Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway most entertaining classes, the Legends, will add the United States Air Force as division sponsor for the 2023 season. Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway is set to open gates for 119 years of auto racing on Saturday, April 1st. The historic season is geared up to continue the excitement from 2022 which saw many close finishes, tight points battles, and wild crashes.

One of the classes that never disappoints is the United States Air Force (USAF) Legends. The division is sanctioned by the INEX Legend Series, which sanctions Legends cars throughout the world. The division is broken down into semi-professional and professional classes, and last year saw over 60 competitors compete in both.

The Pro and Semi-pro divisions have 4 driver classifications, those are Masters, Pros, Semi-Pros, and Young-Lions. Masters are drivers 40 years of age and older. The Pros Class is considered the ‘expert’ classification where drivers must meet certain benchmarks of experience and achievement to receive a Pro license. Semi- Pro drivers are 16 years of age and older and have limited racing experience. The Young Lion Classification is designed for drivers 12 to 15 years of age.

At Nashville, Maters and Pros race together and Semi-Pros and Young Lions race together.

The class runs on the ¼-mile portion of the famed speedway. The USAF Legends has been a steppingstone for many Nashville stars who used the class as a way to gain experience at the track. It is also a home for many professional racers who travel the country competing in various Legend events.

“The United States Air Force is honored to partner with the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway in sponsoring the Legends division. The Legends division and the Air Force have multiple connections including teamwork, competition, dedication, and excellence. This partnership is one way for the Air Force to support local racers and their teams while highlighting our similarities. We are excited to be a part of this great division and look forward to all the exciting racing we will see this season!” Stated Technical Sergeant Kendall Knight.

Fans can also stop by the United States Air Force tent, which will be located in the concourse area, all season long to learn more about the Air Force and get some cool giveaways. The Air Force will be a big part of Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway in the 2023 season, not only in the Legends division, supplying “America’s Favorite Short Track” with a pace truck for the season opener and color guards throughout the season.

“It’s wonderful to partner with the Air Force this year at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway” said promoter Bob Sargent. “Motorsports has always held a close connection with the men and women who defend our freedom and to have them support us this year means a lot.”

The United States Air Force Legends will kick off their season Saturday, April 1st along with all 6 other local division. The USAF Legends will run 8 times this year at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway. Including the US Legends Spring Nationals Championship on Saturday, April 15th. The track championship for the USAF Legends will be on Friday, November 3rd as part of the All American 400 weekend
