Nashville TN— April 24, 2024On Friday, May 10th, Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway has a new race class on the ¼ mile – the newly popular and fast-growing Crown Victoria or Crown Vic class.   This class sprouted up at some short tracks around 2022 and instantly gained traction.

Feeding its growth is an abundance of Ford Crown Victoria cars that are available in junkyards and at city auctions with massive inventories from Law Enforcement and city officials. In addition to massive inventories nationwide, it is an affordable avenue to get into auto racing, perfect for anyone looking to kick off their racing career.

In his first year at the helm, Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway GM, Jason Lord saw the Crown Vics’ popularity coming from Birch Run Speedway and knew one of his first tasks was to launch them at NFS. “Bringing in new cars and drivers will inject fresh energy into the sport. Attracting more families to watch can create a vibrant community around it.” Lord stated. “I think it’s a smart move to expand the fan base and ensure the longevity and growth of the sport.”

The 2024 schedule shows the Crown Vic class racing on Friday, May 10th, on the 1/4- mile, Saturday,  June 8thon the 5/8-mile track, and returning to the 1/4- mile on Saturday, August 10th, for Bass Family Night.

Fans are encouraged to put the whole weekend of May 10th and 11th on their racing calendars. The Crown Vic class will round out the show on the 10th with the Limited Late Models, Pure Stocks, Front Runners, Legends and Bandoleros. Saturday’s big lineup includes the Music City 150 for the ARCA Menards Series East, Pro Late Model 100, and the CRA Street Stocks on the 5/8-mile. Racing begins on Friday at 6:30 PM CT and at 5 PM CT on Saturday.
