Nashville, TN (Monday, April 12, 2021) – This week, drivers from all across the United States are set to converge on the historic Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway. The 64th Season of Asphalt Racing is set to kick off with the Starkey US Legends Major on Friday night, followed by Stock Car Racing on Saturday. Among those expected to be in attendance Saturday, is two-time Pro Late Model Track Champion, and 2020 Runner Up, Cole Williams.

The Sellersburg, Indiana native is set to make his NFS return after coming up just short on his bid for a third championship last season. Williams entered the final event of 2020 with a slim four-point advantage over eventual champion, Dylan Fetcho. Williams brought home a seventh-place finish during the Pro Late Model portion of the All American 400, while Fetcho took home a third-place finish. Williams is looking to avenge those results with another year of solid performances in 2021.

We have done a lot over the off-season to try and find more speed in our cars,” said Williams. “[We] have learned a lot [and] we hope it benefits us in the long run through the season as we chase another championship.”

Williams will unload his Port City Racecars Bordeau Metals number 46 machine preparing for his first win of the year. Last season, Williams found victory lane in dominating fashion during the delayed season opener on July 4th. The win was his first of two last season, with his second victory coming on September 12th.

The opening weekend for NFS begins on Thursday with open practice for stock car teams. Then, on Friday the Starkey US Legends Major at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway will officially kick off the season beginning at 7:00pm; Grandstands open at 5:30pm. On Saturday, the 64th Season of Asphalt Racing Season Opener will begin at 5:30pm following the recognition of the 2020 Champions at 5:00pm. Grandstands open at 2:00pm with Bandolero racing at 3:00pm.
