Nashville, TN (Tuesday, January 14, 2020) – Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway officials have released the 2020 racing schedule for the 63rd season of racing at the historic fairgrounds racetrack in Nashville, Tennessee. The schedule features six local racing dates and three national events for a total of nine high-quality racing programs.
The highly anticipated season opener at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway (NFS) is set for Saturday, April 18, 2020. The event will feature local classes that include, Pro Late Models, Super Trucks, Limited Late Models, Pure Stocks, Front Runners, Legends Cars and other classes to be announced. There will be a practice day on Friday, April 17th. Preceding opening weekend is a media day with open practice scheduled for Saturday, April 11th.
National Touring Series move-in for the first weekend of May. Saturday, May 2nd the ARCA Menards East Series headlines with the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Presented by Chevrolet Performance for a Saturday night stock-car blockbuster. On Sunday, May 3rd, the premier open wheel short track cars in the country make their debut at NFS as the USAC Silver Crown Series opens their 2020 campaign. Also on the card for Sunday is the North/South Super Late Model Challenge featuring the ARCA/CRA Super Series, Southern Super Series and CARS Tour in a tri-sanctioned 100 lap main event. The weekend will begin with a practice day on Friday, May 1st.
Local racing takes center stage during the month of June with events set for Saturday, June 6th and Saturday, June 20th.
Saturday, July 18th features the 8th Running of the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour Masters of the Pros. This 150 lap event is the highest paying race on the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour calendar and draws the top Pro Late Model drivers in the nation. Former event winners include; Chase Elliott, John Hunter Nemechek, Cole Williams and Bubba Pollard. Local NFS divisions will be a part of the event as well – more details will be announced soon.
Saturday, August 8th is back-to-school night with Local Racing at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway. Fun on and off the race track with kid give-a-ways and many activities on the concourse make for a great night of family entertainment.
The penultimate event at NFS showcases Local Racing on Saturday, October 3rd.
Friday, October 30th through Sunday, November 1st is the famed All American 400 Weekend. The event features Championships for all NFS Local Racing divisions on both the quarter mile and five eights mile tracks. Champion Racing Association will have three of their sanctioned series competing throughout the weekend; ARCA/CRA Super Series, JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour and VanHoy Oil CRA Street Stock Series. The Southern Super Series and ARCA Midwest Tour will tri-sanction the Super Late Model main event on Sunday with the ARCA/CRA Super Series.
All three JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour events at NFS will count towards local NFS Pro Late Model championship points. The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour race on May 2nd and the race during All American 400 Weekend will be regular points nights for NFS while the Masters of the Pros event will be a special reduced points night. For that night, all drivers that make a qualifying attempt will earn an equal amount of NFS Championship points.
Speedway officials are evaluating the local racing program and will make announcements soon regarding additional divisions to be a part of local and special events.
