Nashville, TN (Monday, April 27, 2020) – The much-anticipated start of race season at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway has been further delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Last week, the Metropolitan Government of Nashville released the ‘Roadmap for Reopening Nashville’. In cooperation with the guidelines set forth by the city, Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway (NFS) Officials have suspended the Local Racing event, originally scheduled for Saturday, May 16th. The event was to feature Pro Late Models, Super Trucks, Limited Late Models, Street Stocks, Pure Stocks, Front Runners, Legends, Bandoleros and the Baby Grand Racing Series. The reschedule date is to be determined.

Open Practice scheduled for Saturday, May 9th and Friday, May 15th, have been cancelled. Private testing, under strict social distancing guidelines, is still scheduled to begin in the month of May.

Even with the delayed start to race season, NFS officials aim to race all nine scheduled races this year. The next event on the calendar is the rescheduled North/South Super Late Model Challenge 100 set for Saturday, May 30th. The event also hosts the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour, VanHoy Oil CRA Street Stock Series, Victory Custom Trailers CRA Junior Late Model Series and Vores Compact Touring Series.

Speedway officials are in communication with The Fairgrounds Nashville directors, health and city officials as Nashville prepares to reopen for business.
