Nashville Mayor Releases ‘Roadmap for Reopening Nashville’

Nashville, TN (Friday, April 24, 2020) – On Thursday morning, April 23, 2020, Nashville Mayor, John Cooper announced his administration’s “Roadmap for Reopening Nashville” action plan. The plan reveals a four-phase objective to restart business in Nashville. The plan may impact Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway’s currently scheduled operations.

Speedway officials have kept the race track closed since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Race cars have yet to touch the asphalt this year but that had been slated to change beginning in May with private testing and racing events scheduled later in the month.

Speedway officials are in communication with The Fairgrounds Nashville directors, health and city officials about possible schedule adjustments. An announcement is expected to be made next week with further details.
