Speedway to Serve as Strategic Research Pilot Program to Reopen Nashville Outdoor Venues

Nashville, TN (Friday, June 26, 2020) – Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway is pleased to announce approval for the official opening event of the 2020 season, set for Saturday, July 4th. Track President Randy Dyce spent several hours Thursday, presenting ideas and suggestions in order to meet concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic reopening standards.

Dyce met with Metro Nashville Health Department staff.  They looked at the concerns of Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway reopening event and all future outdoor venues within the Metropolitan Nashville area.

The campus of The Fairgrounds Nashville, which includes the historic speedway, addressed all concerns related to the safety and well-being of one and all.  Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway is pleased to have this partnership with Metro Nashville Heath Department to advance knowledge and understanding of the health crisis. This knowledge will set the stage for future outdoor events utilizing social distancing and use of face masks.

The speedway will facilitate social distancing for all patrons and competitors. In addition, face masks will be required for all attending the July 4th event.

The opening event is set for Saturday, July 4th. Green flag racing will begin at 5:30pm. The official schedule of events is to be released early next week. The weekend schedule includes an open practice date on Friday, July 3rd for all divisions competing at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway. The on-track open practice will be from 3pm to 7pm.
