Wright Overtakes Fetcho in Championship Standings

Nashville, TN (October 4, 2022) – Just two races remain for all but the Super Trucks at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway. This Saturday’s Local Racing program is a crucial race in the hunt for the championship. Pro Late Models and Super Trucks take to the famed high banked 5/8ths mile oval with Limited Late Models, Street Stocks, Pure Stocks, Front Runners, Legend Cars, and Bandoleros on the short track at 5:00pm, Saturday evening, October 8th.

Two wins and seven top fives in eight races has earned Hunter Wright the championship points lead for the first time in his professional stock car racing career. Wright, the 2020 Pro Late Model Rookie of the Year, scored a 4th and 2nd in the Twin 50 features on September 17th. Dylan Fetcho, the 2020 Pro Late Model Track Champion relinquished the points lead after placing 7th and 5th. Fetcho now trails Wright by just ten points. Cole Williams, a two-time Nashville Pro Late Model Champion, sits third in the 2022 standings, just 18 markers back from Wright. Williams won the 118 lap feature event on Opening Night this year and has stood on the podium five times. Michael Bolden moved his way up to 4th in the standings with a pair of top ten finishes last month. Last season’s Rookie of the Year, Bryson Shaffer, rounds out the top five.

Saturday’s Pro Late Model race is 100 green flag laps. As of Tuesday afternoon, 26 cars are on the entry list.

One champion will be crowned on Saturday at the conclusion of the Big Machine Vodka Spiked Coolers Super Truck feature event. Tanner Arms, Jeremy Burns, John Burns, Michael Crafton, and Frank Bauer are all eligible to claim the title. Just 24 points separate Arms (P1) and Bauer (P5).

Kevin Rollins and Jonathan Dishman lead the way in the Limited Late Model division.

Buddy Moody, Travis Arms, Michael Curran, and Gus Moody are all in championship contention in the Street Stock division while Michael Neidert holds a tight seven point advantage over John Bradley in the Pure Stock class.

Matt Hamlett leads both Gann’s in the Pest Doctor Front Runner rankings.

Michael Crafton and Oliver Cordell find them selves in a tight points battle once again in the BH Holmes Construction Legend Cars division. Crafton holds the point by just four markers over defending Track Champion, Oliver Cordell.

Three drivers in the Murfreesboro Fence Bandolero division are separated by just nine points. Gavon Veach leads the way over Landon Thrasher and Alexander Pate. Austin Harrison has won several races this year and continues to claw his way back to the top. With just two races to go, Harrison moves into fourth place, 20 points behind the top spot.
