John Burns Wins Final Super Truck Race of the Season

Nashville, TN (October 13, 2022) – For a second time in just three years, Tanner Arms is crowned Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway Super Truck Track Champion. Arms scored a third place finish in the final Big Machine Vodka Spoked Coolers Super Truck race of the 2022 season last Saturday night, October 8th. The podium finish was enough to earn the title by just five points over race winner, John Burns.

John Burns is a two-time Super Truck Champion, winning the crown in 2019 and 2021. Burns led the race flag to flag from his outside front row starting position Saturday evening.

Frank Bauer started on pole and placed fourth at the end of the 20-lap affair. Bauer is Super Truck veteran who competed in the inaugural truck race in 1997. Twenty-five years later, Bauer ends his most recent season in fourth place in the championship standings.

Jeremy Burns finishes the ’22 season third in the final point standings. Jeremy Burns collected a feature win during the Triple 50s event on June 4th.

Tanner Arms won his first Championship two years ago. That season Arms won two of five races and never finished off the podium.

This year, Arms won two of four races to claim the title with a lowest finishing position of fourth, a race in which he was collected in a multi-truck accident on June 4th.

Tanner Arms, a 23-year-old driver from Springfield, Tennessee, joins the likes of Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway Hall of Fame inductee Scott Borchetta, Pro Late Model racer Tandy Marlin, Daniel Victory, and John Burns as multi-time Big Machine Vodka Spiked Coolers Super Truck Track Champions at the famed Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway.
