Nashville, TN (Tuesday, June 8, 2021) – Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway (NFS) is heating up for an exciting summer season of racing that kicks off this Saturday night. In addition to the full line-up of racing on the quarter-mile, the historic 5/8ths mile will host the entertaining Big Machine Vodka Spiked Coolers Super Trucks and special guests with the Modifieds of Mayhem Tour.
Founded in 2015, the Modifieds of Mayhem Tour is competing in its seventh season in 2021 and has already played host to some exciting races this season. Their nine event schedule takes them to some of the south’s most recognizable race tracks including Crisp Motorsports Park, Five Flags Speedway, Montgomery Motor Speedway, and a single stop this weekend to NFS.
A full field of modifieds have already registered for the 50 lap event on Saturday, June 12th, including some of the Tour’s biggest hitters. All-time wins leader Augie Grill is entered. He has a total of 11 victories with the Modifieds of Mayhem. Also on the entry list is 2013 NFS Modified Division Track Champion, Brandon Curren. The modifieds will race for 50 green flag laps around Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway during the Music City 50.
Also on the schedule are the Super Trucks who return to racing after a breathtaking finish during the May 29th show. On the final lap, 2020 Track Champion, Tanner Arms made a move on race leader John Burns at the exit of turn two. Burns went high and bounced off the backstretch wall and into Arms. The contact sent Arms spinning headfirst into the inside wall at the entrance of turn three, destroying his Sante Fe Chevrolet. The hit with the wall also slowed Burns’ machine, allowing Frank Bauer to sneak by and collect his first career Super Trucks win.
The quarter-mile will be full of action Saturday night as well with the Dye Hard Hair Salon Bandoleros, BH Homles Construction Legends Cars, Pure Stocks, Street Stocks, and Limited Late Models. On May 29th, such a large number of Legends converged on NFS that those outside the top 16 in qualifying were forced to run a B-Main in an attempt to transfer into the show. After the field was set, Michael Crafton III grabbed the win after an eventful 25 lap feature. Former Bandoleros Champion Aidan Potter ran a strong race to start the evening and made his first trip to the Winner Circle this season.
John Bradley became a fan favorite again Saturday night after winning his second straight feature in the Pure Stocks division. Bradley came back from near disaster to pick up his second win of the season in an exciting race. Street Stocks return to the Speedway after a week off the schedule. When they raced on opening night back in April, Billy Shaffer picked up the win over Michael Pannell and Travis Arms at the end of 20 laps. Jonathan Dishman grabbed the win during the last show with the Limited Late Models, managing to stay in front of a field full of tempers and frustration that lead to a long list of drivers with sheet metal to replace.
Racing on Saturday night begins at 5:00 PM. Grandstands open at 3:00 PM with the first on-track activity of the night coming with Super Truck and Modified Qualifying. Discounted tickets are available now online at www.NashvilleFairgroundsSpeedway.Racing. Tickets are also available at the gate for just $15/Adult, $12/Senior & Military, $5/Child age 6-12, FREE/Children 5 and under.
